Product Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and ship end-to-end product features across Python services, APIs, React, and TypeScript interfaces.
• Build and improve the AI workflows powering the product.
• Model complex legal workflows in data models, backend services, and APIs.
• Prototype and iterate rapidly with product, design, and in-house legal partners.
• Make foundational technical decisions and establish engineering patterns as the product scales.
• Mentor engineers and help recruit new team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software.
• Strong backend depth and sufficient frontend fluency to ship polished interfaces independently.
• Experience designing schemas, APIs, and services, with attention to failure modes.
• Strong product judgment, ownership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Interest in building systems from the ground up and experimenting with new technologies.
• Ability to work on-site in New York City.
