Summer 2027 Environmental Engineer Intern

Location: Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, United States; occasional travel for field assignments and fieldwork required.

Salary: $20.00–$23.00

What you will do

• Conduct soil, water, and air field sampling and site inspections.
• Assist with engineering calculations, designs, conceptual models, and construction materials testing.
• Perform preliminary human health and ecological risk modeling.
• Research, collect, and enter environmental data.
• Prepare technical reports, visual aids, and permitting documents.
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and scientists on environmental projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences as a junior or senior.
• Relevant coursework in environmental principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, analytical, independent-work, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork, lift equipment, travel occasionally, and hold a valid driver's license.
• Experience with environmental modeling or risk assessment tools.

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
