Director, AI Engineer - Fuelight

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Relocation is provided. Travel required: 0%–25%. Candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $171,000–$198,000 annual base pay. Annual incentive reference value: 30%.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable AI capabilities for the Fuelight 360 resource allocation and investment optimization platform.
• Implement generative AI, large language model, intelligent agent, decision-support, scenario-planning, forecasting, simulation, optimization, and automation solutions.
• Translate enterprise AI strategy, architecture standards, and platform capabilities into delivery roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Establish MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps, observability, monitoring, lifecycle management, deployment automation, and operational governance practices.
• Partner with product, data science, product engineering, and core technology teams to prioritize high-value AI solutions and use enterprise AI platforms.
• Lead and develop AI engineering teams through coaching, technical direction, architecture and code reviews, quality standards, and career development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning engineering, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, technical leads, or specialized engineering functions.
• Production experience with generative AI, large language model applications, intelligent agents, machine learning systems, agentic AI architectures, RAG, GraphRAG, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise in Python and cloud-native application development; Azure experience is preferred. Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps in production is required.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

• Experience delivering AI capabilities across multiple products or business domains in a matrixed environment.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, cybersecurity, privacy, model governance, and enterprise risk controls.
• Experience establishing reusable engineering frameworks, development accelerators, and operational best practices.
