Network Architect (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Remote - United States. U.S. Person status is required for applicable ITAR/export-controlled work, and an active TS/Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility or TS/SCI is required upon hire.

Base salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year, excluding benefits and bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead network discovery and current-state assessments across corporate, engineering, manufacturing, secure, and mission-support environments.
• Design secure, scalable, highly available LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, internet edge, routing, switching, and segmentation architectures.
• Create target-state architectures, network diagrams, engineering standards, implementation plans, addressing strategies, and resiliency models.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for network builds, site activations, migrations, technology refreshes, and acquisition integrations.
• Partner with Cybersecurity to implement Zero Trust, access control, secure remote access, network monitoring, compliance controls, and resilient designs.
• Serve as a senior escalation point, lead root-cause analysis, mentor engineers, and transition completed projects into operational support.

Requirements

• Approximately 8+ years of progressive enterprise networking experience, including senior engineering or architecture responsibilities.
• Expert knowledge of routing and switching, LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls, VPN, DNS/DHCP, IP addressing, segmentation, and network monitoring.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, redundancy, high availability, QoS, distributed-site networking, discovery, modernization, migration, and implementation.
• Ability to take projects from requirements through architecture, detailed engineering, testing, and operational handoff.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• U.S. Person status and an active TS/Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility or TS/SCI are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, government, advanced manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, Juniper, Meraki, Zscaler, SD-WAN, NAC, IPAM, cloud networking, or hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Azure Government, GCC High, network automation, APIs, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, or automated documentation.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, PCNSE, Security+, or CISSP.
