Clinical Engineer System Integration (HL7 Experience Required)

What you will do

• Act as a technical subject matter expert for connected medical devices and clinical systems, advising clinical staff, vendors, and Clinical Engineering.
• Assess, design, procure, install, configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, document, and test integrated medical device systems.
• Support patient monitoring, nurse call, infusion pumps, vital signs, EEG, perfusion, OR video integration, cardiology systems, DICOM nodes, Cerner EMR, CMMS, and related platforms.
• Develop and maintain HL7 interfaces, system inventories, technical documentation, databases, servers, clients, networks, and interface connections.
• Resolve end-user issues, support downtimes, coordinate vendor remediation, manage feature requests, and respond to recalls and patient incident investigations.
• Oversee multiple clinical technology projects, apply risk and change-management practices, and participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent relevant experience.
• 4–7 years of hands-on experience configuring and administering medical systems.
• 4–7 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting clinical application systems.
• 4–7 years of experience with SQL Server relational databases and HL7 interface engines.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, HL7 brokers, XML, Java, SQL, DICOM, Cerner EMR, medical devices, and clinical systems.
• Working knowledge of WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, and Ethernet, along with project delivery, systems development, communication, leadership, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare Technology Management or Information Technology certifications.
• Experience leading hospital application suites.
• Practical experience with project delivery and systems development.
