Automation Service Engineering Associate I/II (Oncology)

Location: Onsite in Menlo Park, California, United States. Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday, 2:30pm–11:00pm, with a 30% PM shift differential.

Hourly compensation: $28.90–$32.84 per hour. Total compensation package up to $84,891 per year.

What you will do

• Provide service, support, and troubleshooting for automated laboratory processes and instrumentation.
• Execute or coordinate routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Perform installation, operational, and performance qualification activities.
• Troubleshoot and triage equipment issues, involving vendors when needed.
• Draft equipment operation and maintenance documentation and maintain parts inventories and equipment records.
• Suggest process improvements and execute special projects.

Requirements

• BS degree in a scientific discipline.
• Basic familiarity with a coding language and flow control logic.
• Understanding of clinical laboratory assays and their applications.
• Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems with minimal direction in a complex laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and documentation skills, including working knowledge of Good Document Practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Menlo Park on a Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday afternoon/evening shift.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of liquid handler servicing experience or 2 years in a technical service role for Associate II level.
• Experience troubleshooting liquid handler scripts and additional programming or coding experience.
• Experience in a CLIA-regulated environment.
• Experience developing training programs and performing knowledge transfer.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, and self-motivation.
