Automation Engineer (Steel Manufacturing)

Salary: $107,700–$161,550 annually

What you will do

• Maintain variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, process computers, and related equipment.
• Program SQL, Crystal Reports, Siemens S7 PLCs, and Intouch-Wonderware systems.
• Maintain and modify graphical user interface programs and HMIs.
• Work with Level II system interfaces connecting Level I PLC systems, OWS, HMIs, and SAP.
• Identify and implement automation solutions that improve process consistency and efficiency.
• Communicate with relevant departments and support steel mill processes.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Level II systems and PLC equipment, including Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs.
• Strong understanding of databases and programming languages.
• Proficiency in database management and programming.
• General knowledge of steel mill processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
