Procurement Category Manager - Services (EMEA)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; occasional travel within the EMEA region required.

What you will do

• Develop and continuously improve category strategies for services procurement across EMEA.
• Manage HR services, facility management, general and professional services, waste management, and related service categories.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including market analysis, supplier selection, RFx processes, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management.
• Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and process improvements while maintaining service quality and compliance.
• Build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across HR, Operations, Sustainability, and Finance.
• Lead cross-regional initiatives to standardize procurement practices and manage market, regulatory, compliance, and supplier risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of procurement experience focused on indirect services categories at regional or multinational level.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of HR services, facility management, general and professional services, waste management, lab services, supplier markets, and Collective Labor Agreements.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
• Fluent English required; willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA.

Nice to have

• Professional procurement certification such as CIPS or an advanced degree such as an MBA or MSc.
• Experience in food ingredients, FMCG, or manufacturing, with knowledge of sustainability and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex procurement projects.
• Additional European languages.
