Head of Engineering (Fintech): Leading a 20–30-person multidisciplinary engineering group for an AI-powered spend management and procurement platform with an accent on technical strategy, organisational design, delivery accountability, and engineering economics. Focus on building the leadership team, simplifying architecture, scaling distributed systems, improving reliability, and driving AI-augmented engineering across European offices.
Location: Hybrid, based in one of the offices in Barcelona, Paris, or London, with a flexible on-site rhythm agreed with the team.

is an AI-powered spend management and procurement platform covering procurement, payment cards, expense management, invoice processing, and accounting automation for finance teams.
What you will do
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering group of 20–30 people, including Engineering Managers, Senior Engineering Managers, and Staff Engineers.
- Define multi-quarter technical and organisational strategy aligned with company goals.
- Drive architectural simplification, domain boundaries, platformisation, technical debt reduction, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Own delivery outcomes, KPIs, SLOs, observability, on-call practices, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
- Build, coach, and retain the engineering leadership team, including hiring, performance calibration, promotions, compensation, and succession planning.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, customer-facing teams, and executives on strategy, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with increasing scope, including 3+ years managing managers or Engineering Managers.
- Experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programmes in product-led SaaS with measurable results.
- Hands-on experience operating distributed systems at scale in production.
- Technical familiarity with TypeScript, Node, React, and AWS, with the ability to review code and challenge technical decisions.
- Strong business acumen covering unit economics, ROI, cost-to-serve, and architectural trade-offs.
- Application and CV must be submitted in English.
