What you will do

• Lead a team of specialist media lawyers and provide professional direction.
• Deliver pre-publication legal advice across television, radio, digital, social and news services.
• Enable editorial ambitions while managing legal risk and directing resources effectively.
• Advise on investigations, breaking news, factual programming, drama, comedy, consumer and reality formats.
• Support content developed for 24-hour news, established hirify.global formats, YouTube and other platforms.
• Research and advise on legal issues across other jurisdictions where required.

Requirements

• Qualified and experienced solicitor or barrister.
• Leadership experience managing and developing a team.
• Deep technical expertise and broad practical experience in pre-publication advice gained at a major news provider.
• Strong analytical, judgement, communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to work with journalists, editors and senior stakeholders while balancing competing priorities.
• Comprehensive understanding of hirify.global regulatory obligations relating to editorial matters, including defamation, privacy, contempt and data protection law in England and Wales.
