Equipment and Process Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Penang, Malaysia

What you will do

• Own and optimize high-volume manufacturing equipment and processes for integrated circuit production.
• Conduct tests and measurements to control critical dimensions, defectivity, and process performance.
• Recommend and implement process modifications that improve safety, quality, cost, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with global counterparts to develop, transfer, and align equipment and process parameters for factory ramp-ups.
• Manage maintenance, repairs, installation, conversion, and qualification activities to ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
• Provide technical training and mentorship while addressing discrepant materials and equipment activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience; or a specialized master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, process control, and process improvement.
• Proficiency in statistical process control methods and tools.
• Technical expertise in equipment monitoring, adjustment, and process characterization.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for presenting complex technical data.
• Ability to work on-site in Penang, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Design of Experiments principles and structured problem-solving methods.
• Experience leading process optimization and improvement projects across cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with excursion management systems and semiconductor manufacturing techniques.
• Experience mentoring or leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
