Supplier Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Kulim, Malaysia; travel required 50% of the time

What you will do

• Work with New Product Development teams to clarify engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Partner with New Product Introduction teams and suppliers on specifications and design for manufacturability.
• Investigate alternative manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality and reliability.
• Support supplier selection, technical audits, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve quality problems and incidents by driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assess supplier production readiness for transferred and new modules and recommend materials and qualified sources.

Requirements

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience applying project management skills and quality tools to supplier and manufacturing issues.
• Ability to evaluate technical requirements, manufacturing capabilities, product quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
• Ability to solve straightforward technical problems using engineering judgment, experience, and established precedents.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and provide informal guidance to new team members.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
