Sustainability Process Engineering Specialist

Location: On-site near partner manufacturing facilities in Suzhou, China

What you will do

• Implement and monitor manufacturing processes that reduce energy consumption, water use, waste generation, and material use across hirify.global product lines.
• Support Life Cycle Analysis studies for mice, keyboards, webcams, headsets, and gaming peripherals using real manufacturing data.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on energy sourcing, emissions reduction, waste diversion, and sustainability performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methods to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Collect and report carbon footprint and sustainability metrics, supporting carbon labeling and corporate sustainability disclosures.
• Conduct on-site audits and work with Global Operations, R&D, Packaging Engineering, and Quality teams to embed sustainability into NPI processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or sustainability-focused engineering, preferably in consumer electronics or hardware.
• Experience or coursework in Life Cycle Analysis, including LCA software such as SimaPro, GaBi, or openLCA, and ISO 14040/14044 standards.
• Understanding of injection molding, PCB assembly, electromechanical assembly, recycled plastics, bio-based materials, and packaging sustainability.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
• Willingness to travel periodically to manufacturing sites.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional LCA certification or accredited LCA training.
• Experience with carbon accounting, product carbon labeling, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, contract manufacturers, or original design manufacturers in China.
