Payroll Manager, EMEA (MEDNA)

Location: Remote; open to candidates across all hirify.global locations. The position is administratively posted under Spain/Cytiva, but the employing legal entity will be determined based on the successful candidate's location and applicable regulations.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end payroll cycles across the MEDNA region, ensuring accurate, timely, compliant, and controlled delivery.
• Approve applicable payroll-related payments and conduct audits of payroll amounts and processes.
• Prepare internal and external audit documentation and ensure compliance with regional labor laws, tax requirements, and payment obligations.
• Lead payroll team performance, capacity planning, development, PTO scheduling, and hiring decisions.
• Maintain payroll process documentation, support system enhancements and troubleshooting, and monitor ServiceNow tickets and payroll inquiries.
• Partner with HR, Finance, HRIS, IT, and external vendors to provide reports, insights, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources, or 7–9 years of related payroll experience.
• 3–5 years of experience processing and managing complex EMEA payrolls, including tax, compliance, and labor-law requirements.
• Proven leadership and team management experience, including leading change and implementing new processes or standards.
• CPP certification.
• Strategic approach to resolving payroll issues while considering timing and tax implications.
• Remote work is available, and candidates may be considered across all hirify.global locations.

Nice to have

• Experience managing vendor relationships and payroll systems or reporting tools.
• Fluency in English and additional European languages.
• Experience with payroll and time-system implementations or M&A.
• Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills.
