Payroll Manager - Team Lead (Spanish Payroll) (Spanish payroll/HR services): Leading a team of Payroll Consultants and overseeing payroll delivery for Spanish clients with an accent on Spanish labour legislation, client escalations, service quality, and compliance. Focus on managing complex payroll operations, improving processes, and maintaining SLA performance across a portfolio of key clients.
Location: Hybrid in Granada or Madrid, Spain; CET role. Workation abroad is possible for up to 4 weeks per year only where has a legal entity.

What you will do
- Lead a team of approximately 8–10 Payroll Consultants, supporting development, performance, workload management, and complex issue resolution.
- Act as the senior escalation point for approximately 15 key clients and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee Spanish payroll delivery, service launches, payroll schedules, and procedure documentation.
- Advise on Spanish labour legislation, payroll processes, compliance, and operational quality standards.
- Monitor SLAs, KPIs, billing activities, purchase orders, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive conflict resolution, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Approximately 15 years of experience in payroll administration and Spanish labour legislation.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar leadership or managerial role.
- Proven team leadership, client relationship management, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Spanish payroll legislation and processes, with strong analytical, decision-making, and prioritisation abilities.
- Spanish is required, and English proficiency is essential.
- Assertiveness, resilience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience with Integrho and SAP.
- Experience in payroll outsourcing, labour consultancy, professional services, or an internal payroll team.
