Engineering Manager, Platform & Infrastructure (AI)

Location: Watertown, Massachusetts, United States; on-site

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the team building agent-first infrastructure, including environments, tooling, observability, and context systems.
• Define ownership boundaries between the central platform team and engineering teams, resolve conflicting requirements, and document decisions.
• Own the reliability of shared production, CI, security, and compliance systems, ensuring incidents reach the right owners quickly.
• Work directly with engineers operating the infrastructure and fix underlying causes rather than routing issues through ticket queues.
• Hire senior engineers and set the direction for a small team supporting a broad engineering and robotics infrastructure surface.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering, including several years leading a team or function.
• Experience owning shared infrastructure used by an entire engineering organization.
• Experience building environments, tooling, or workflows for AI agents performing real engineering work.
• Production accountability, including on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
• Ability to build platforms that make engineers faster and enable them to operate and troubleshoot their own systems.
• Strong written communication and the ability to create decisions and standards that teams follow.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, hardware, or infrastructure involving machines in the field.
• Experience as a first platform or security lead at a growing company.
• Experience building a small, senior engineering team.
