AI Platform Engineering Lead (Fintech)

Location: NYC-Metro; hybrid

Base compensation: $250,000–$300,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own the internal platform, including scaffolding, templates, defaults, tooling, and release machinery for compliant agent workflows.
• Build shared, versioned tool catalogs and governed promotion lanes from local development through production.
• Develop compliance, auditability, governance, regression testing, and shadow A/B testing infrastructure.
• Design logical multi-tenant isolation across control, data, execution, and playbook planes.
• Build the customer-facing developer experience, including an SDK, API gateway, sandboxed evaluation, trace-level debugging, and egress webhooks.
• Lead a small engineering team and establish written technical standards, approval rights, and separation of concerns.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating a multi-tenant platform used by external developers through an SDK or API.
• Experience shipping products in regulated environments, including SOC 2, audit trails, access control, and model risk.
• Experience converting bespoke services delivery into reusable product and platform primitives.
• Direct engineering leadership experience, including mentoring earlier-career engineers and establishing written standards.
• Strong opinions about developer experience supported by practical implementation experience.
• Availability for a hybrid role in the NYC-Metro area.

• Experience owning an internal developer platform, paved road, or platform-as-a-service product sold to enterprises.
• Experience with AI agent systems.
• Experience protecting platform abstractions from unsuitable customer-specific requests.
