Engineering Manager (AI-Native Platform)

What you will do

• Lead one or more distributed engineering teams building and operating cloud-native and AI-powered software systems.
• Build inclusive, high-performing teams through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and performance management.
• Own predictable delivery by setting priorities, improving planning, removing obstacles, and monitoring engineering and operational metrics.
• Partner with Product Management, Design, Architecture, Security, and business stakeholders to translate strategy and ambiguous problems into executable engineering plans.
• Drive responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools and evaluate AI-powered products and agentic systems with appropriate governance, observability, and safeguards.
• Establish operational excellence through SLOs, incident reviews, postmortems, automation, documentation, technical debt management, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building production software systems, including experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience managing software engineers and building high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong experience delivering cloud-native, distributed software systems in production.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, distributed systems, iterative development, continuous delivery, and DORA metrics.
• Experience using business, engineering, and operational metrics to improve delivery, quality, team effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder alignment, technical judgment, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Databricks.
• Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with C# (.NET), Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Terraform, CDK, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Datadog, or Prometheus.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
