Technician 4, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (Sputtering/Vacuum Systems): Maintaining and improving sputtering equipment on a media manufacturing production line with an accent on preventive maintenance, uptime, failure diagnosis, and cleanroom safety. Focus on leading sustaining activities, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control-system failures, and reducing downtime, scrap, and maintenance costs.
Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia; onsite role with a 12-hour AWS shift and overtime as required.

What you will do
- Lead daily sustaining activities for sputtering equipment to maintain high uptime and performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues.
- Support equipment upgrades, machine conversions, continuous-improvement projects, and KPI improvement for OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and PM effectiveness.
- Document maintenance activities, failures, checklists, and equipment history in maintenance systems.
- Lead problem-solving sessions, guide junior technicians, review spare parts, and support cost-optimization initiatives while following cleanroom and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially with vacuum chamber systems, sputtering, or machine maintenance.
- Knowledge of control systems or PLCs, measurement tools, schematic diagrams, and system troubleshooting.
- Ability to isolate root causes, repair equipment failures, and respond to unexpected breakdowns.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to collaborate with Production, Process, Yield, Quality, and Engineering teams and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
