Associate Facilities Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia. Full-time onsite role supporting a 24/7 manufacturing plant; flexibility to work all shifts and some weekends is required.

What you will do

• Lead facilities technicians, contractors, and outsourced service providers while managing performance, attendance, coverage, training, and development.
• Maintain HVAC, cleanroom, building, ventilation, electrical, CDA, dryer, vacuum, chiller, cooling tower, LEV, BAS/BMS, and EMS systems.
• Plan preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and timely responses to facility service requests.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment, safety, quality, energy, and water-related issues.
• Support ISO Class 8 and 9 cleanroom qualification, QMS documentation, authority audits, inspections, license renewals, and emergency drills.
• Use Lean principles and data analysis to improve safety, quality, reliability, efficiency, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical and electronics engineering or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduate or 1–2 years of relevant facilities or manufacturing experience, preferably in PCBA, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cleanroom environments.
• Fresh graduate or 1–2 years of experience supervising or leading facilities activities in a high-volume production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical, computer, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Process-oriented approach with data-based decision-making and strict attention to safety, quality, and documentation.
• Ability to stand for at least 75% of each shift, walk for at least 50% of each shift, and work all shifts and some weekends.

Nice to have

• Chargeman certificate.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical documentation, SAP, BAS/BMS/EMS, cleanroom standards, and calibration planning.
• Experience with electrical systems, software, PCBA production, HVAC, LEV, building maintenance, solar energy, and energy efficiency programs.
• English and Malay fluency.
