Reliability Test Intern (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; onsite 5 days per week

Base hourly pay: $29 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to plan reliability tests for satellite hardware.
• Develop test plans and procedures based on design specifications and mission profiles.
• Set up, operate, and monitor thermal chambers, thermal vacuum systems, vibration shaker tables, and combined thermal-vibration chambers.
• Execute thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, and vibration reliability tests.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify failure modes and verify reliability targets.
• Design test fixtures and configure instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong interest in hardware reliability, testing, and hands-on engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing project needs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be onsite five days per week.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or other protected individual under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with environmental or reliability testing.
• Familiarity with test chambers and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar data analysis tools.
• Experience with hardware design, integration, or lab-based engineering projects.
• Knowledge of failure analysis, root cause investigation, or reliability engineering principles.
