Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

What you will do
- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real thermal engineering challenges.
- Work with a mentor and department employees to develop technical and professional skills.
- Support thermal engineering across the spacecraft production lifecycle, from conception through flight.
- Collaborate with thermal, GNC, mechanical, and other cross-functional teams.
- Attend regular one-on-one meetings to provide progress updates and support learning.
- Participate in technical talks and professional networking events.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Long Beach, California, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
- For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the necessary authorizations.
Nice to have
- GPA of 3.5 or above.
- At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
- Thermal engineering experience.
- Experience with CAD/CAM, finite element analysis, machining, or a lathe machine.
