Avionics Reliability Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop reliability validation strategies for avionics hardware, including environmental and stress testing.
• Design and execute HALT/HASS campaigns to identify failure modes and mature flight hardware.
• Specify, procure, and commission environmental test equipment and chambers.
• Conduct vibration, thermal cycling, and stress-screening tests while troubleshooting hardware in the lab.
• Translate test findings into design improvements, engineering change orders, screening procedures, and acceptance test procedures.
• Collaborate with avionics design and manufacturing teams to improve robustness, manufacturability, compliance, and long-term performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with environmental or reliability testing of electronic hardware.
• Experience troubleshooting complex hardware systems in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with standard laboratory instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Strong understanding of failure analysis and root-cause methodologies.
• Ability to work across design, test, and manufacturing teams.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or running HALT/HASS or other accelerated life-testing programs.
• Familiarity with thermal, vibration, and combined-stress environmental chambers.
• Experience with avionics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability hardware.
• Experience writing test automation or analysis scripts in Python or a similar language.
• Knowledge of industry reliability standards and qualification practices.
