Location: On-site in Long Beach, California, United States. Occasional travel to suppliers, test facilities, and the launch site is required. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $112,340–$230,472 USD per year.

What you will do
- Lead spacecraft integration and test campaigns across components, boxes, subsystems, and full vehicles.
- Define test philosophy, acceptance and qualification strategies, verification plans, and test documentation.
- Develop and operate environmental test systems for random vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, EMI/EMC, and mass properties.
- Design, build, install, and validate mechanical and electrical ground support equipment, tooling, fixtures, facilities, and work instructions.
- Partner with design and manufacturing engineering to improve design for manufacture, design for test, repeatability, and production ramp.
- Investigate failures, drive root-cause resolution, own test data review, and feed findings back into spacecraft design and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in test engineering, integration, or hands-on hardware engineering.
- Hands-on experience integrating spacecraft or complex flight hardware, including thermal vacuum and random vibration testing.
- Experience creating and executing test plans, procedures, reports, requirements, and discrepancy documentation from scratch.
- Proficiency in at least one of C, C++, Python, or MATLAB for test automation, data reduction, or ground-support-equipment control.
- Ability to work on-site in Long Beach, in clean-room and ESD-sensitive environments, with extended hours and occasional weekends during build and test campaigns.
Nice to have
- Ability to obtain a security clearance and advanced degree in engineering.
- Knowledge of satellite subsystems including C&DH, ADCS, EPS, and communications.
- Experience with multi-unit or constellation production, automated electronics test systems, RF testing, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Experience with clean-room operations, ESD-sensitive hardware, electrical test equipment, spacecraft harnesses, NX CAD, IPC/J-STD standards, or launch campaigns.
