Balloon Fabrication Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Denver, Colorado; must live within commuting distance

Venture-backed aerospace startup designing, manufacturing, operating, and selling stratospheric balloon systems for wildfire monitoring, urban mapping, government applications, and other data-driven missions.

What you will do

• Build balloon assemblies by cutting patterns and joining long fabric seams using a proprietary seaming method.
• Perform adhesive bonding, light mechanical assembly, and rigging work involving plastic fittings and custom cord assemblies.
• Manufacture parachutes and related components, and support balloon kit preparation.
• Follow production schedules, support batch builds and high-volume manufacturing, and prioritize work based on production demands.
• Document every build step using quality and manufacturing templates, and support inventory management.
• Assemble and operate test equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required.
• Must be located within commuting distance of Denver, Colorado.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, bills of materials, and quality documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize production tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on, repetitive assembly work while sitting or standing for up to 12 hours per shift.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, production, assembly, or related hands-on technical operations.
• Familiarity with inventory control systems.
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
