Aerospace Assembly Technician

Location: Onsite in Paris, Texas; must be located within commuting distance

Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup that designs, builds, operates, and sells stratospheric balloon systems for applications including wildfire monitoring, urban mapping, and government missions.

What you will do

• Build stratospheric balloons and associated accessories from start to finish.
• Cut large patterns and join them using a proprietary seaming method.
• Create adhesive bonds and perform light mechanical work connecting rigid fittings to balloons.
• Produce custom cord assemblies and attach them to balloon systems through light rigging work.
• Assemble test equipment, operate machinery, maintain the shop, and support cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Work with the Operational Review Board to resolve process and product issues while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or new development environment is preferred.
• Ability to learn and use complex machinery, small tools, and measurement equipment; training is provided.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, push, pull, and lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Strong integrity, accountability, work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to team and project success.
• Willingness to work required overtime, typically representing 30–40% of annual hours.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, production, assembly, or related hands-on technical operations.
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
