Mechanic I

Location: Romeoville, Illinois, United States; onsite warehouse role

Salary: $29.00–$29.75 per hour

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair conveyor systems, sorters, unloaders, dock equipment, and facility systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on powered industrial vehicles, electrical panels, conveyors, and other assigned assets.
• Complete general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Operate aerial platform lifts, boom lifts, and powered industrial trucks.
• Perform emergency repairs and coordinate vendors when required.
• Complete work orders, maintenance records, logs, and CMMS documentation while following OSHA and Lockout/Tagout requirements.

Requirements

• At least one year of industrial maintenance experience or relevant certification.
• Experience with basic carpentry, painting, drywall, cleaning, and general maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, PLC systems, computers, and CMMS software.
• Ability to work in a noisy, non-climate-controlled environment with low lighting and to accept scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly, climb ladders and gangways, and perform bending, crawling, stretching, and reaching.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including arc-flash protection and safety shoes.

Nice to have

• Experience operating order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
