Trade Designer (Luxury Retail)

Location: Houston, Texas; physical retail in-store, with in-home design visits

Salary: $25.50–$27.50 per hour, plus quarterly sales and prospecting bonuses

What you will do

• Partner with trade accounts, designers, and builders to source and execute design projects.
• Manage a portfolio of trade and consumer clients, develop long-term relationships, and prospect new customers.
• Deliver virtual, in-home, and in-store design appointments, including product curation, moodboards, space plans, renderings, and follow-up.
• Support complex luxury, trade, and custom product projects while advising on fabrics, finishes, performance, durability, and market trends.
• Coordinate with suppliers and use sales analytics and design software to support store profitability and growth.
• Meet sales and customer satisfaction targets and participate in store operations, including floor sets, replenishment, and product substitutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of design experience in a design firm, high-end furniture retailer, or comparable commercial or professional setting.
• Knowledge of FF&E, furniture systems, colors, materials, and the design process.
• Professional portfolio required; an established trade-client network and active portfolio are preferred.
• Experience managing large-scale luxury B2C and trade projects and preparing comprehensive design proposals.
• Experience with CRM, POS, and design tools such as Salesforce, DesignFiles, Spoak, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for in-home design visits; availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays is required.

Nice to have

• Retail experience.
• Familiarity with Perigold supplier brands, materials, construction, and custom programs.
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Art, Architecture, or Interior Design.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
