Senior Principal Software Engineer (eCommerce)

What you will do

• Define the multi-year technology and architecture roadmap for the Digital Commerce platform.
• Lead modernization through headless commerce, cloud-native architectures, AI-enabled capabilities, and emerging technologies.
• Architect scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing eCommerce systems, services, APIs, and integrations.
• Establish engineering standards for architecture governance, code quality, automated testing, security, performance, observability, and operational excellence.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives with Product and Delivery teams to improve customer experience, conversion, and business growth.
• Mentor engineers and managers through technical guidance, design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including eCommerce or high-traffic consumer applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep expertise in one or more of Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, or Go.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise eCommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, BigCommerce, or Commerce Tools, including headless and composable commerce.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, distributed systems, containers, REST/GraphQL APIs, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, security, scalability, performance, resiliency, and observability.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI technologies and automation that improve developer productivity and customer experiences.
• Knowledge of ERP, OMS, payment service provider, and fulfillment system integrations.
