Equipment Engineering Technician (Nights) (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Malta, New York, USA; onsite at the Fab 8 semiconductor manufacturing facility

Salary: $43,100–$70,600 per year

What you will do

• Monitor, sustain, test, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment and assigned tool sets.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, computer, and software-related equipment issues.
• Recover equipment from process interruptions, document events, and communicate shift pass-downs to lead technicians and engineers.
• Work with production team members and area engineers to maintain manufacturing readiness.
• Follow Fab 8 environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electrical or mechanical background through a two-year technical degree, two years of relevant military experience, or four years of relevant experience.
• Written and verbal English fluency, basic reading and writing comprehension, and basic computer navigation skills.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom with required clothing and PPE, including respirators when necessary.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, use hand tools, and work at a computer for most of a 12-hour shift; periodic lifting of at least 50 pounds is required.
• Willingness to work alternating day or night shifts, including 12-hour schedules.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or equivalent military, trade, or technical experience.
• Four or more years of direct semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Experience with statistical process control, structured troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Project management, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
