Avionics Manufacturing Supervisor (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States. Workplace type: Onsite. The position is subject to U.S. export regulations and requires U.S. Persons or eligibility to obtain an applicable export license.

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Hire, manage, develop, and mentor avionics manufacturing technicians.
• Coordinate production schedules and provide daily support for PCB assemblies and electromechanical assembly on the production floor.
• Build and test avionics hardware, including soldering, conformal coating, mechanical assembly, and electrical and environmental acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams on manufacturability, DFM/DFA compliance, and reliability.
• Set production targets and track performance metrics such as rate and yield.
• Develop, document, and optimize avionics manufacturing processes while managing cleanroom space, equipment, and consumables.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and a record of developing people and manufacturing teams.
• 5+ years of professional experience manufacturing electrical and optical hardware.
• Experience with PCB assemblies, including soldering and conformal coating, as well as electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with electrical and environmental acceptance testing, including thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, and vibration testing.
• Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience managing a non-exempt workforce.
• 5+ years of avionics manufacturing experience in space environments.
• Experience improving team processes and training team members.
