Avionics Technician V (Aerospace)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; work includes office and field environments with frequent travel to customer locations.

Salary: $40.14–$55.19 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale avionics installation and maintenance projects.
• Diagnose and repair avionics systems using technical documentation, schematics, and specialized tools.
• Develop and implement advanced maintenance procedures and document completed work.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to support compliance, safety, and work quality.
• Mentor, train, guide, and inspect the work of other avionics technicians.
• Travel to customer locations and work in noisy, hazardous, confined, and elevated environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of relevant experience; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Specialized avionics systems expertise and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications, including routing wires from technical drawings.
• Proficiency with avionics installation tools, wiring, wiring repair, soldering, and crimping.
• Basic understanding of spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and/or pitot-static equipment; own tools in good working order required.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in avionics, electronics, or a related field.
• Leadership and project management experience, including prior lead experience.
• Expertise with advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• FCC familiarity or a General Radio Operator License (GROL).
• Aerospace and defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. military experience.
