Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer I (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Pasadena, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and ITAR-related restrictions.

Base salary: $115,000–$158,400 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $135,475–$194,075 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for avionics and electromechanical assemblies.
• Review fabrication and assembly documentation and provide design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback.
• Create and maintain work instructions, production travelers, test procedures, visual aids, and integrated build documentation.
• Resolve manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions with quality teams.
• Improve throughput, manufacturability, technician workflows, reliability, quality, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with design engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and technicians to transition hardware from prototype to repeatable production.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in avionics, electrical, or electrical/mechanical manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of electronic circuits, design principles, and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, or test procedures for complex hardware.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience transitioning products from design to production in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with environmental acceptance testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and vacuum testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, interfaces, sensors, power supplies, oscilloscopes, serial devices, and switch topologies.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, fault tree analysis, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Experience with capacity modeling, process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and statistical process control.
