Avionics R&D Tech II Senior PCBA (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform PCBA soldering and rework, including jumper installation and component replacement.
• Build wire harnesses, cable assemblies, PCBAs, electro-mechanical units, and test equipment.
• Assemble, integrate, and test avionics hardware and support equipment.
• Execute manufacturing and test processes using work instructions, drawings, schematics, and controlled engineering documentation.
• Support prototype, development, and initial production builds, including tooling, fixtures, equipment, and process improvements.
• Identify build issues, escalate discrepancies, maintain ESD-compliant work areas, and support production schedules.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of avionics technician, electronics manufacturing, or related hands-on assembly experience.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring harness drawings.
• Experience with soldering, PCBA rework, and IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards.
• Familiarity with avionics, electrical, or electro-mechanical assembly processes and ESD-controlled manufacturing environments.
• Ability to follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and controlled documentation with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work full-time onsite at the Torrance, California facility. Access to export-controlled information may require compliance with applicable U.S. Government authorization, security clearance, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements if designated for the position.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
• Fine-pitch or high-density PCBA rework experience.
• Experience with flight hardware, prototype hardware, test systems, or rapid engineering development builds.
• Familiarity with configuration-controlled manufacturing documentation and Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Basic electronic troubleshooting, diagnostics, communication, and teamwork skills.
