Staff Engineer, Electromechanical Power Electronics (R6046)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; on-site

Salary: $187,000–$281,000 per year, plus potential bonus, benefits, and equity for regular employees.

What you will do

• Design high-voltage power electronics packaging, electrical interconnects, thermal management solutions, and aircraft integration.
• Perform structural, thermal, vibration, clearance, and PCBA-hardening analyses for harsh environments.
• Ensure avionics meet performance, safety, environmental, and EMI/EMC requirements, including DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461.
• Own designs from concept and implementation through system verification and validation.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers and PCB designers on board design, packaging, constraints, and mechanical interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong CAD experience with NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools for 3D modeling, drawings, and system layout.
• Familiarity with eCAD tools such as Altium, Cadence, or Allegro, and harness design tools such as Capital or Zuken.
• Experience working with electrical engineers on PCB constraints, circuit cards, mechanical interfaces, PCB layout, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with finite element analysis, thermal analysis, and fatigue or lifecycle testing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with changing priorities.
