Manager, Technical Accounting

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States. On-site position.

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year, plus restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead research and evaluation of complex debt, equity, consolidation, lease, revenue recognition, and other transactions.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda and communicate accounting conclusions to leadership and non-financial stakeholders.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and SEC reporting materials.
• Author the Management’s Discussion and Analysis section and formulate global accounting policies.
• Monitor new FASB, SEC, and other accounting pronouncements and lead implementation of applicable standards.
• Partner with external auditors and support the SOX internal control environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Certified Public Accountant certification.
• Six or more years of accounting and audit experience.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting regulations, and SOX internal control frameworks.
• Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accounting concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Experience at a large public accounting firm or with a large corporate filer.
• Experience drafting MD&A or other SEC narrative disclosures.
• Experience implementing major accounting standards such as ASC 842 or ASC 606.
• Experience with project finance, joint ventures, energy, infrastructure, or data centers.
