Accountant, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

Location: Fremont, California, USA; onsite

Annual target total cash compensation: $115,000–$125,000, including base salary and target commission; equity may also be available.

What you will do

• Prepare quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and registration statements as applicable.
• Prepare and update U.S. GAAP financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, supporting schedules, tie-outs, and audit trails.
• Research technical accounting matters and support analyses involving business combinations, stock-based compensation, earnings per share, equity transactions, investments, and joint ventures.
• Support quarterly and annual close processes, investigate fluctuations, and resolve reporting issues with accounting and finance teams.
• Coordinate with external auditors, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Investor Relations, Stock Administration, and management committees.
• Perform SOX control activities and improve reporting systems, consolidation processes, automation, and financial data workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of relevant accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement presentation, and quarterly and annual reporting processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work under reporting deadlines.
• Experience working effectively across functional teams.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
• Public accounting, Big Four, national accounting firm, or publicly traded company experience.
• Experience with Forms 10-K and 10-Q, XBRL, Workiva, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar systems.
• Experience researching FASB Accounting Standards Codification and SEC rules and regulations.
