Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Salary: $61,000–$85,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Maintain EHS compliance records, permit files, inspection documentation, regulatory calendars, and EHSMS data.
• Coordinate inspections, audits, Job Hazard Analysis reviews, industrial hygiene monitoring, respirator fit testing, and emergency response drills.
• Support hazardous waste administration, chemical inventory management, SDS/GHS library maintenance, and environmental waste tracking.
• Organize incident investigation materials, near-miss and hazard reports, OSHA 300/300A log entries, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Schedule EHS training, manage LMS attendance and completion records, and prepare toolbox talks and safety materials.
• Compile EHS metrics and reports and assist with research on regulatory updates for specialist and manager review.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in EHS, quality, or administrative support, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial setting.
• Basic familiarity with workplace safety concepts and interest in OSHA and EPA regulatory frameworks.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and accurate data-entry skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, plus the ability to learn EHS software systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete E-Verify requirements.

Nice to have

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification.
• Internship, co-op, or administrative experience in manufacturing, defense, or government contracting.
• Familiarity with EHSMS or GRC platforms such as KPA, Cority, Vector Solutions, or VelocityEHS.
• Exposure to industrial hygiene or hazardous waste management concepts.
