TL;DR
Technical Lead (Aerospace): Leading engineers and analysts supporting satellite flight safety operations across development, launch, operations, anomaly troubleshooting, passivation, and reentry, with an accent on orbital hazards, radio frequency and laser interference, and satellite constellation safety. Focus on evaluating scientific data, troubleshooting system anomalies, creating operational procedures, and briefing management on complex spaceflight activities.

Location: Alexandria, VA, United States; 100% on-site and cannot be performed remotely.

Salary: $128,000–$136,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical performance of engineers and analysts supporting satellite flight safety.
  • Prepare, modify, and deliver briefings on radio frequency interference, laser interference, satellite close approaches, testing, and other technical topics.
  • Interface with satellite constellation operators regarding identified hazards.
  • Evaluate scientific data, troubleshoot basic system failures and anomalies, and submit performance and deficiency reports.
  • Create temporary operational procedures with advanced analysts and system support teams.
  • Brief mid- and senior-level management and adapt to changing priorities in an operations environment.

Requirements

  • US citizenship required.
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, Physics, or a similar STEM field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 7+ years with a graduate degree in orbital analysis, space domain awareness, radio frequency interference, laser analysis, or a similar field.
  • Experience leading engineers and analysts and supporting complex aerospace systems.

Nice to have

  • Red Hat Linux experience.
  • Windows experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience serving government customers.
