Mobile Engineer (Building Operations)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA; the job description also references Dallas/Fort Worth and requires travel between properties.

Salary: $36.78–$43.27 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, heating, cooling, pumping, refrigeration, and water systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, generators, fire pumps, and related equipment.
• Monitor energy management systems and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, and building control equipment.
• Inspect emergency exits, fire and life-safety systems, equipment rooms, and property conditions.
• Respond to equipment failures, fires, evacuations, customer concerns, and other emergency situations.
• Document completed work, report issues to supervisors, and follow applicable codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial properties.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; apprenticeship or trade school training is preferred.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, boilers, heaters, pumps, compressors, refrigerant systems, and water systems.
• Knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, repair, and energy management.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; applicable trade licenses or permits may be required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, stoop, work outdoors between properties, and work shifts or on-call assignments when required.

Nice to have

• Journeyman or Master Electrician, refrigeration, boiler, or steam operator credentials.
• Universal CFC technician certification.
• Basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
