Attorney Development Manager - Debt Finance & Healthcare

Location: New York, United States; periodic travel is expected.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year in New York, commensurate with relevant experience.

What you will do

• Manage the day-to-day development, performance, engagement, onboarding, and integration of an assigned attorney cohort.
• Coordinate staffing and resource allocation with matter teams, aligning attorney skills and interests with client work, firm priorities, and secondment opportunities.
• Gather and synthesize stakeholder feedback for development plans, performance evaluations, career progression, and review processes.
• Partner with firm leadership, recruiting, practice management, talent, employee relations, and attorney development committees on hiring, retention, advancement, and succession strategies.
• Identify training needs, create individual learning plans, and support targeted professional development programming.
• Lead initiatives that improve engagement, inclusion, belonging, policy awareness, and participation in firm programs.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree strongly preferred, with a solid foundation in legal principles and practices.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a large law firm or comparable professional services environment.
• Experience in legal staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, coaching, mentoring, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information, multiple high-priority projects, and relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Comfort using data, technology platforms, and AI tools to improve workflows and inform talent decisions; periodic travel is required.
