TL;DR

Location: On-site at Tower - Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pennsylvania; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work within the United States

Salary: $18.65–$20.50 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

  • Review uninsured and under-insured patient referrals to identify Medicaid and financial assistance eligibility.
  • Interview patients and obtain the documents required for applications.
  • Coordinate applications through determination and follow up to support timely billing or adjustment processing.
  • Update insurance information and document actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal benefit requirements and share information with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Build working relationships with Medicaid caseworkers and collaborate with revenue cycle departments.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of healthcare experience involving patient interaction about hospital financial issues.
  • Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • High school diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered instead.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
  • Knowledge of patient insurance, authorizations, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, medical terminology, or procedure codes.
  • Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States.

Nice to have

  • Patient Access experience with managed care or insurance.
  • Call Center experience.
  • Openness to using AI and innovation to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
