Senior Scientist, Computational Biology

Location: Hybrid in Somerville, Massachusetts, United States, with onsite work required 2–3 days per week. Candidates should be local to the Boston area or able to meet the onsite expectation.

Base salary: $141,000–$171,000 per year, plus annual incentive bonus and equity grants.

What you will do

• Design, run, analyze, and interpret experiments with biologists and platform teams.
• Develop methods and tools for processing and interpreting molecular and multi-omics data.
• Build, execute, and troubleshoot NGS analysis pipelines in cloud-based environments.
• Analyze genome editing data, including off-target discovery, structural variation, translation effects, and NGS quality control.
• Process data from research and preclinical projects to develop rigorous scientific hypotheses.
• Present scientific findings to interdisciplinary audiences and senior leadership to support program decisions.

Requirements

• PhD with 5+ years of academic or industry experience, MS with 10+ years, or BS with 12+ years of experience.
• Broad knowledge of genome editing technologies and off-target discovery assays, including WGS, targeted sequencing, GUIDE-seq, and Digenome-seq.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting NGS analysis pipelines in cloud-based environments.
• Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud computing, version control, reproducible analysis, and software development best practices.
• Experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow, Dagster, or equivalent systems.
• Strong computational biology background and experience collaborating with experimental scientists and data or software engineers.
