Senior Linux Administrator II

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States. The role requires access to export-controlled technology and candidates must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status.

What you will do

• Design, architect, implement, and automate a standardized global Linux infrastructure.
• Manage Red Hat-based engineering systems, including Satellite Server, Identity Management, and lifecycle management tools.
• Administer system availability, capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, and SLA adherence across enterprise data centers.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using Ansible, Satellite Server, Foreman, and CFEngine.
• Develop automation scripts and tools with Python, Perl, and Bash.
• Provide escalation-level support, participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot complex incidents, and improve operational procedures.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status is required.
• At least 7.5 years of hands-on Linux or Unix system administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing and administering RHEL or AlmaLinux platforms.
• At least 3 years of experience with configuration management, infrastructure as code, and centralized lifecycle management systems such as Ansible, Satellite, Foreman, or Spacewalk.
• Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies such as Proxmox, Docker, VMware, or Kubernetes, plus Python, Perl, and Bash scripting.
• Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, monitoring, large-scale data centers, networking, firewalls, databases, and Git.

Nice to have

• Compute cluster experience with LSF, Sun Grid Engine, or RTDA.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
