Senior Linux Engineer (Trading Infrastructure)

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Collaborate with a global Linux Engineering team on engineering projects, infrastructure changes, coordination, and on-call schedules.
• Serve as a liaison between Linux Engineering and trading desks and internal teams.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux environments using declarative and repeatable methods.
• Monitor Linux server health and troubleshoot issues across a large-scale environment.
• Package applications, maintain software repositories, and automate repetitive system administration tasks.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software technologies for high-performance infrastructure.

Requirements

• Extensive Linux support and engineering experience in a high-availability environment with more than 10,000 servers.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Scripting and automation experience with Bash, Python, or another high-level programming language.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat-based and Debian-based platforms, including CentOS, Rocky, Alma, Oracle, and Ubuntu.
• Understanding of Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenStack, IP networking, routing, and multicast traffic.
• Experience tuning and debugging Linux systems for high-performance, low-latency trading applications.
