Engineering Manager, Advisor Experience (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, United States. Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and must be able to start work in the U.S. on the first day.

Base salary: $170,000–$265,000 USD per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack engineers while establishing standards for accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product management and design to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver advisor-client experiences.
• Own technical direction, architecture decisions, design reviews, and code review quality.
• Drive execution through goal-setting frameworks and sustainable engineering practices.
• Recruit and hire engineers and build effective interview processes as the team expands.
• Integrate Advisor Experience products with the client portal, reporting infrastructure, and data layer while improving testing, deployment, incident response, and technical debt management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in people management or team leadership.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong full-stack background with experience reviewing backend architecture such as Java systems and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Ember, or Svelte.
• Experience building and growing engineering teams, including hiring, interview design, and team scaling.
• Clear communication skills for translating technical details into business outcomes across product, design, and leadership.
• Must already have unrestricted U.S. work authorization and must not require current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience with real-time communication systems, messaging infrastructure, or client-facing portals.
• Background or strong interest in fintech, wealth management, or financial advisor workflows.
