Engineering Manager (ERP/Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Amman, Jordan; substantial availability during GMT+3 hours is required.

What you will do

• Write production code as a core contributor while building the ERP platform from its early stage.
• Own core modules, the transactional foundation, regulatory compliance, and integrations with inventory, payments, and POS systems.
• Make architectural decisions for the platform's long-term scalability and reliability.
• Define engineering standards for code reviews, testing, and responsible use of AI tooling.
• Work with the product manager and domain experts to translate business requirements into software.
• Hire and develop engineers, introduce processes when needed, and guide the product into the core business.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience, including leadership as an engineering manager, tech lead, or founding engineer.
• Current hands-on coding experience and strong full-stack capability from database schema to user interface.
• Meaningful experience building ERP or accounting systems, including double-entry accounting and period close.
• Practical daily use of AI agents and LLM tooling, with sound judgment about their appropriate application.
• Experience building products from zero in small teams with unclear requirements and short delivery cycles.
• Ability to work substantially within GMT+3 hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with ledgers, double-entry engines, or transaction-processing systems at scale.
• Fintech, banking, payments, or financial services background.
• Experience hiring and growing an engineering team from its earliest stage.
• Familiarity with ERPNext, Odoo, NetSuite, or SAP.
• ZATCA e-invoicing or comparable regional regulatory experience.
