Engineering Leader (AI)

Location: New York, United States; based in the SoHo office five days per week

Salary: $265,000–$325,000 annual base pay, plus equity; ranges vary by U.S. geographic market.

What you will do

• Build hirify.global's New York engineering presence and establish its operating rhythm, quality bar, and culture.
• Own a business-critical product area from ambiguity through the delivery of enterprise-grade software.
• Set technical direction, make architecture decisions, and remain hands-on enough to review code and unblock the team.
• Apply an AI-native and agentic engineering perspective to product development and team practices.
• Partner with product and design to improve execution velocity and business outcomes.
• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers while building the team from a small core.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing software engineering teams, including managing managers or serving as the senior engineering leader for a location.
• Track record of building products or teams from zero to meaningful scale and owning product outcomes.
• Strong technical background with the ability to review code, contribute when needed, and lead technical design discussions.
• Clear perspective and demonstrated experience in AI and agentic engineering.
• Experience hiring and mentoring engineers in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Based in New York and willing to work from the SoHo office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience as a site lead or founding senior engineering leader for a new office or region.
• Experience managing AI/ML engineering teams and shipping AI- or ML-powered product features.
• Experience in health tech or another regulated, enterprise-sold domain.
• Founder or early-employee experience.
