Engineering Manager (Travel)

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY; relocation expense coverage to New York City or San Francisco may be available

Salary: $275,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity. Final compensation depends on location and hiring level.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, coach, and grow the Ramp Travel engineering team, currently comprising approximately six engineers.
• Own delivery across travel search and inventory, quoting and repricing, checkout, policy evaluation, loyalty, and post-booking servicing.
• Own reliability and correctness across supplier APIs, GDS and aggregator content, TMC, and OBT integrations.
• Partner with Product, Design, Operations, Partnerships, and Sales on enterprise travel commitments.
• Establish practices for AI-assisted development and ship agentic booking features.
• Hire additional engineers as the team expands.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience managing engineers in teams of approximately 5–15 people.
• Experience taking ambiguous, high-ownership problems from 0 to 1 and scaling the resulting systems.
• Willingness to remain hands-on and lead design reviews and architecture evaluations.
• Strong product judgment and comfort working with customers.
• Experience owning a transactional system with external dependencies, such as booking, payments, marketplaces, or logistics.
• Ability to work in the hybrid New York setup or relocate to New York City or San Francisco if needed.

Nice to have

• Corporate travel experience with OBTs, GDS/NDC integrations, travel content sources, or traveler-facing products.
• Enterprise B2B fintech or travel-and-expense experience.
• Experience rolling out agentic development tools or shipping LLM-backed features.
