Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; onsite five days per week. Travel potential: 0–10%. Domestic relocation assistance is not available, although the posting also states that relocation is available.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and build low- and medium-voltage switchgear for generator paralleling applications.
• Interpret customer specifications and drawings while applying NEC, UL, CSA, ANSI, and related industry requirements.
• Create bills of materials in the ERP system and provide direction to purchasing and procurement.
• Direct CAD designers in creating wiring and assembly drawings.
• Support production during equipment manufacturing.
• Write and validate PLC code for generator control systems and integrate communication protocols.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, computer science, or computer engineering; mechanical engineering candidates need electrical design or programming experience.
• Extensive experience in electrical and control engineering.
• Computer programming experience and PLC experience with Schneider and/or Allen-Bradley.
• Experience designing UL 508A control enclosures.
• Experience with power engineering and multifunction relay programming or operation.
• Ability to work onsite in Alpharetta five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.
